Leeds vs Newcastle Betting Tips

Leeds host Newcastle at Elland Road in the Premier League on Wednesday. The home side have been unable to pick up wins at home of late, while Newcastle have picked up in recent weeks.

Leeds have just one win in their last six matches coming into this match and have fallen to 14th in the Premier League table. 

For as entertaining as Marcelo Bielsa’s team are to watch, it will ultimately count for nothing if they are unable to get points on the board.

Leeds’ most recent win came three games ago as they defeated Everton 1-0 away from home, before they then lost 3-1 at Chelsea.

Last time out, they were beaten 2-1 by West Ham at Elland Road as Mateusz Klich’s penalty was cancelled out by Tomas Soucek and Angelo Ogbonna.

Leeds’ injury list will see them be without Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Gaetano Berardi and Adam Forshaw.

Newcastle fans will be happy with the recent results of their team, who have won three of their last five matches in the Premier League.

Unlike their opponents, Newcastle haven’t always been pleasing on the eye but won’t care as long as they are getting results.

They have responded well to their demoralising 2-0 loss to Chelsea, starting with a late 2-0 win away to Crystal Palace.

The Magpies followed that up with another three points last weekend as they beat West Brom 2-1 thanks to goals from Miguel Almiron and Dwight Gayle. 

Newcastle are set to be without Martin Dubravka, Jamaal Lascelles, Paul Dummett, Ryan Fraser and Allan Saint-Maximin.

Newcastle have 39 wins in this fixture, while Leeds have 37. There have also been 18 draws shared between the clubs.

The previous meeting ended in a 1-1 draw in 2017.

Leeds are favourites to win this match at 1.80. Newcastle are the outsiders at 4.70, while the draw is available at 4.10.

This is a meeting of two teams with very contrasting styles. Leeds play expansive, exciting football, while Steve Bruce’s team go for the more pragmatic approach and it will be interesting to see how they styles mesh.
