Leicester vs Southampton Betting Tips

Leicester have performed well in all competitions of late, albeit with the bulk of their good results coming away from home.

The Foxes won 2-0 away to Tottenham before a 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United. They have since played away from home three times in a row, drawing 1-1 with Crystal Palace and beating Newcastle 2-1.

Last time out, they thumped Stoke City 4-0 in the FA Cup. James Justin, Marc Albrighton, Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes all scored for Brendan Rodgers’ side, who have just one win in four at home in the league.

Leicester will be hoping James Maddison and Jamie Vardy can shake off knocks to be available on Saturday. Ricardo Pereira, Dennis Praet and Cengiz Under are expected to miss out.

Southampton, fresh off a 12-day gap between fixtures, have become accustomed to draws in the Premier League.

The first of those came away to Arsenal, before losing 1-0 at home to Manchester City. That defeat was then followed up with successive 0-0 draws with Fulham and West Ham. 

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men then ended a four-match wait for a win as they beat Liverpool 1-0.

Danny Ings scored the only goal of the game against his former club inside two minutes as they also ended a three-match wait for a goal. 

Away from home, they have scored in five of their last six matches.

Southampton’s injury list features Michael Obafemi, Mohammed Salisu, Moussa Djenepo, Oriol Romeu, Che Adams, Nathan Redmond and Jannik Vestergaard.

Southampton have 34 wins in this fixture compared to Leicester’s 29. They have also played out 28 draws.

The most recent meeting ended in a 2-1 Southampton win.

Leicester have struggled to win matches at home this season, while Southampton have lost just once on the road all season. The draw looks a good bet.
