Liverpool vs Burnley Betting Tips

Liverpool must improve their form and quickly if they are to keep themselves in a strong position to defend their Premier League title.

The Reds went three matches without a win against West Brom, Newcastle and Southampton before facing a youthful Aston Villa side in the FA Cup. The Reds won 4-1 at Villa Park to book their place in the fourth round.

They then faced Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League. Despite dominating for much of the first half, Liverpool were unable to find the breakthrough as they played out a 0-0 draw.

Joel Matip and Naby Keita are still struggling with knocks. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Konstantino Tsimikas and Diogo Jota are all ruled out.

Burnley are still hovering just above the relegation zone after a run of three defeats in their last four matches in the Premier League.

The Clarets run started with a 1-0 defeat away to Leeds before beating bottom club Sheffield United 1-0. They then lost at home to Manchester United, before then losing their last match against West Ham.

Michail Antonio scored the only goal at the London Stadium to condemn Burnley to another defeat, with it also making their third straight away match without a goal. They are also winless in their last seven matches against Liverpool.

Burnley are likely to be without Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Jimmy Dunne and Charlie Taylor, all of whom are struggling with knocks.

Liverpool have 56 wins in this fixture to Burnley’s 37. They have also played out 29 draws in their history.

The most recent meeting ended in a 1-1 draw at the end of last season after Liverpool had already won the Premier League title.

Liverpool have struggled slightly of late but I’m expecting their strong home form to carry them through in this contest.
