Newcastle face West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. The home side are back in action after being forced to postpone last weekend’s fixture with Aston Villa.

They were unable to build on that last weekend though, losing 5-1 to Crystal Palace. It was a devastating defeat that saw them concede four goals in the second half after Matheus Pereira’s red card.

Matheus Pereira is suspended while Conor Townsend, Sam Field, Jake Livermore and Hal Robson-Kanu are all carrying knocks.

West Brom have 49 wins in this fixture to Newcastle’s 48. There have also been 34 draws.

Newcastle won the previous top flight fixture between the clubs 1-0 at St. James’ Park.

This isn’t a match that neutrals will be flocking to watch given the performances and entertainment value that has been associated with the two clubs this season. Recent meetings would also suggest this will be a tight affair.
